A look at the showroom/warehouse in Memphis, Tennessee

With a small team, Fray is quietly building a solid reputation for offering quality equipment at extremely low prices, along with a high focus on customer service. Here are 5 items that home gym owners should consider. These observations are based on a two-day visit to Memphis.

Crumb Bumper Plates

Everyone is always looking for the best price on bumpers. You may have just found them. If ordering a set, you can expect to pay about a dollar and a quarter per pound on these crumb bumper plates (before shipping). These types of plates are known for being very durable in the industry. They may be a bit wider than traditional bumpers but are going to be able to handle just about anything thrown at it.

FHR4 Half Rack

This is a fantastic option for anyone wanting a half rack to save space. The FHR4 is made with 13 and 11 gauge steel and feels extremely durable. Pegs are at the top and bottom so bands can be used for pull-ups, squats, bench, and more. Plate storage is also included with 6 holders in total. It weighs a solid 279 pounds and is 93″ H x 56″ D x 68″ W (peg to peg). Lastly, the rack accessories that can be included are lever arms, monolifts, and dip attachments (none were tested on).

Functional Trainer

A functional trainer is a luxury for any home gym owner to have, but if you have space, this is one of the most affordable options on the market. The pulley system glides smoothly and each side consists of 198 pounds of weight stacks. It’s also a tank. It weighs 910 pounds and is made with 11 gauge steel throughout. The overall footprint is 90″ tall, 55″ wide, and 36″ deep. Lastly, it does come with a lifetime warranty on the frame and a 36-month warranty for cables, pulleys, pins, and hardware for home gym use.

Olympic Plate and Bumper Weight Tree (On Wheels)

This storage set has the ability to store a ton of plate weight and four barbells. In addition, it can be wheeled around and does not take up much space. This is priced at just $159.95 (before shipping).

Rubber Hex Dumbbells

At .79 per pound (before shipping), these dumbbells are at a very tough price to beat. In addition, they are easy to grip with moderate knurling and the heavy-duty rubber makes them durable and noise resistant.

  1. Fray Fitness is a terribly run company.
I ordered a piece of equipment from them and all I received was delays and excuses.
The equipment never came. I’ve requested a full refund, which I am anticipating will take forever given their business practices.

    Buy elsewhere.
