What Has Your Experience with Fray Fitness Been Like?

I visited Fray Fitness back in 2019 and they seemed to be a high-value option for many within the home gym community. At that time, it seemed like they had the chance to really challenge REP and Titan for that “best home gym value” crown.

However, over the past few years, the feedback from Fray Fitness has been inconsistent. While they offer incredible sales, the overall experience and customer service that many deal with has not been great.

We asked the community. Here are some of the notable responses:

Vivalacam16 Bought a rack….delayed multiple times until I cancelled. Bought #55lb dbs, one was loose. They sent a replacement, that was looser….got a partial refund. Somewhat fast response time from customer service, but sub par performance

Casillas.power Bought some iron plates during a sale, they’re solid so far! Really deep lip and nice finish. Only thing is, the 45s are a little smaller than “standard” iron 45s. Not really an issue to me, it’s just different.

Lift_like_a_mann Super mixed. We outfit a portion of our gym with lots of their equipment, and mostly it’s been great. Some items were damaged when they shipped in February and they haven’t made amends for it yet. They also kept our money for dumbbells that were out of stock (and not listed as such) for 10 months. Each month they would say it’s next month. It never came, so finally we asked for a refund. It came as a check. Ultimately the things we purchased were generally good or ok quality. Price was decent on most. Would hesitate to suggest to anyone else for anything more than bumper plates…

Kristin_1775 Tried to leave a review about a piece of equipment that sucked and they deleted it. They promoted it on their OG and replied to a guy who was interested to tell him all it’s faults and they deleted it and blocked the account

80arelliott08 Selectorized Lat Pulldown, Savage series Rack, 5-100 lb dumbells. I took advantage of their 20% off sale last year and although it took a while to ship (supply chain crisis) they reps were always very responsive and polite. When the equipment showed up, I was very very happy with the quality. Id give them an 8.9/10 for the whole process.

_juaneezy_ Really just you get what you pay for, I was in the market to buy monolift attachments and noticed fray were half the price of other companies. On the site there were no pictures or any specs of the attachment, still bought them for the price. Man do I regret not spending more on better quality, the monolifts scratched my rack every time I’d take them off or put back on, then the uhmw would only cover a portion of the attachment( there was no picture online so I didn’t know). Then when I went to review the product they deleted my review.

As mentioned above, the overall feedback is very mixed. While many have had solid experiences, Fray may not have everything figured out and chances of issues are more likely to happen than with most.

If they want to be a major player in the future, many of these issues need to be fixed.

With That Being Said, Fray Did Launch A Savage Series Functional Trainer Power Rack Combo

Fresh off the Athena release, Fray launches a relatively similar option, but this includes a 1:1 ratio and is only sold as a standalone item.

The price isn’t bad when taking advantage of their summer sale (code 20SALE will save you 20%).
