December 2023 New Product Releases for the Home Gym

*Below is a recap for the entire month. To keep up with the latest product releases, you can subscribe to the Knurled News Newsletter. This will ensure you receive timely updates on new products as they become available. A new edition will be released tomorrow.

Introduction

Many of us would anticipate fewer new products being released towards the end of the year. However, last month proved to be an exception as REP, Bells of Steel, Bulletproof Fitness, Torque, Kabuki, Get RXd, Micro Gainz, and many other brands launched some impressive products.

Check out the list below.

USA-Made Equilizers from REP

After months of teasing, the USA-made Equalizers are here!

These are some of the better iron plates I’ve seen, including an e-coat finish that should hold up well, beveled edges for a comfortable grip, and a 2% weight tolerance.

In addition, with the six grip holes, they’ll be easy to maneuver around within the gym.

It appears that these are not a pre-order and shouldn’t include long shipping delays.

Updated Kickstand for Mammoth Belt Squat

The most significant feature that the Mammoth Belt Squat was missing was a kickstand, which has been updated!

No longer do you need to load & lift from the floor to get the movement rolling.

I think this is an excellent update & look forward to seeing Fringe continue to develop this product!

Vintage Gains from Micro Gainz

Vintage Gains are laser-cut steel weights with magnets to calibrate your weight plates launched in collaboration with Vintage Weights PGH.

  • Each set contains 4-.25LB and 2- .50LB Vintage Gainz magnetic weights
  • Designed to calibrate the weight of iron and steel weight plates
  • Apply the Vintage Gainz to your weight plates and leave them on for as long as you own your plates
  • Two strong neodymium magnets on the back of the plate magnetize to your weight plate
  • Matte black paint coating
  • Laser-etched logo and weight

Plate Loaded & Weight Stack All-In-On Trainer from Bells of Steel.

Bells of Steel has added two functional trainer/squat rack options, including just a 54.6” x 58.8” footprint.

The Plate Loaded & Weight Stack All-In-On Trainer appears to include the same specs. However, one uses weight plates as weight, and the other includes a 210 lb stack.

Additional specs include:

  • 2:1 pull ratio
  • Height of 80.75”
  • 2.3” tubing size
  • Attachments like the 60mm Seal Row Pad, Split Squat Leg Roller, Belt Squat/Lever Arms, and more can be added.
  • Aluminum Pulleys
  • Limited Lifetime Warranties.

The Weight Stack option is currently on presale for $1,349.99, while the Plate Loaded one is $989.99. The prices will go up after this pre-sale.

SledTrac’s from Get RXd

Get RXd just released two very innovative “treadmill-like” machines, but they are so much more.

One is motorized, while the other is “user-powered.” Right now, they both include some solid pre-order discounts.

  • Xebex SledTrac 6000: This is the more versatile option of the two and includes a mind-blowing six different training modes with the motorized treadmill:
    • Dynamic Sled
    • Fixed Sled
    • Traditional Treadmill
    • Backward Walk
    • Decline Mode
    • Limit Speed

  • Xebex SledTrac Lite 5000: This one includes three modes with a “user-driven treadmill”
    • Dynamic Sled
    • Fixed Sled
    • Self-Powered Step

1000 Series Selectorized Lat/Low Row from REP

It’s nice to see REP adding some additional options for their more budget-friendly rack options.

The 1000 Series Selectorized Lat/Low Row from REP attachment is an add-on for the PR-1000 and PR-1100 power racks. It lets you do cable exercises like pulldowns, rows, curls, and tricep extensions. The weight stack goes up to 200 lbs (upgradable to 250 lbs) and uses a 1:1 ratio, which is what you want for a lat pulldown. You can also add resistance bands for increased resistance. The magnetic pin makes it easy to switch between weight increments.

The lat pulldown/low row is likely the hottest attachment right now and gives many a bit more of an incentive to either go with or keep their budget-friendly rack.

ANKER 7

The Torque Anker 7 is a wall-mounted cable trainer that is an upgrade from the Anker 3 for those looking for a functional trainer with as little space as possible. It has a 2:1 weight ratio with 150lb, 200lb, or 225lb weight stack options.

The Anker 7 also boasts a wider stance than the previous model, with only 9 inches of clearance from a wall,

Stainless steel uprights with laser engraved numbering are also included.

This looks like a solid option for those wanting a standalone functional trainer that doesn’t take up too much space.

It includes a reasonable price tag & free shipping.

Megalith Handles from Rorman Strength

The Megalith Handles are a unique and innovative type of lever arm handle from Rorman Strength. They aren’t cheap, but I don’t think there are any other handles that can accomplish what this does.

Key features include:

  • 360-degree articulation: This allows your joints to move naturally, unlike traditional lever arm handles that can restrict movement.
  • 7-inch aggressively knurled handle: Provides a secure and comfortable grip for heavy lifts.
  • 9-inch stainless steel loadable weight horn: Accommodates multiple weight plates for progressive overload.
  • Custom stainless steel offset handle bracket: Ensures proper alignment and stability during use.
  • 20mm thick weight plate spacers: Made in the USA by Aperture Engineering LLC, these spacers ensure smooth plate loading and prevent rattling.

Oregon Power Bar from Kabuki

The Oregon Power Bar is Kabuki’s latest power bar and it definitely includes some unique features:

  • With a 190k PSI Tensile Strength & 28.5 shaft diameter, Kabuki claims that it results in a bar with low flexion and minimized whip.
  • The knurl is labeled as “Kabuknurl,” a fully raised knurl pattern designed to grip skin, not tear it.
  • Lastly, it includes Kabuki’s proprietary RAW Finish™ is deemed “repairable,” “anti-corrosive,” and weathergaurd (learn more).

In addition, the Oregon Power Bar includes an introductory price of $299 & Free Shipping + Free Kabuki Bar Sauce.

Kabuki Mack Lite

Mackey Innovations has quickly gained a reputation for creating the strongest barbell clamps in the world.

If you haven’t heard, Mackey Innovations & Kabuki reached an agreement to merge, and it was announced about a week ago (view IG Post).

That said, below is their first product release together – the Kabuki Mack Lite.

This new option is Made in America, starts out at just $49.99, and weighs about one pound.

I like the look too.

VTS Rack Attachment & VTS Lite Rack Attachment from Bulletproof Fitness

The VTS Rack Attachment from Bulletproof has the ability to change your power rack into a smith machine or a single handle option for isolateral movements.

In addition, there is a VTS Lite option. This one is designed more specifically just for smith machine use and is not quite as dynamic as the other system.

I reached out to Larry to clarify the differences, and he stated:

“VTS is wheels on all four sides that allows different combos of load and resistance vectors to still work and glide where lite has wheels on only two sides so works for barbell smith and cable but limited to other uses like single handle and more we drop that will work on VTS.

Lite is basically cheaper version for those only wanting barbell smith or pulley use.”
