Compact Leg Press from Force USA
Many home gym owners have space for one or a few specialty pieces of equipment, but not much more. For many, this Compact Leg Press should be considered as one of those pieces.
Important details include:
- Smaller footprint than most leg press machines (52″ W, 65″ D, 57″ H). It would take up a little more than 1 horse stall mat.
- While using there is an increased focus on legs and less strain on the spine. It also includes great back support.
- Easy to adjust, including adjustable angles on seat and footplate.
- Calf block is a nice feature that can be added
- Band pegs can be added for more resistance
- Built with commercial quality, so it will last awhile and hold up well in just about any environment.

The Reason to Purchase an AB-5200 Just Got WIDER
Here’s an additional reason to consider the AB-5200 Bench from Rep. The wide pad adds 2 inches to and some comfort to your heavy lifts. It’s the same pad, but wider (not thicker). Outside of custom solutions, this seems to be the widest option available for adjustable benches available today.
For many, this will eliminate some of that shoulder hang-off and increase support for certain lifts. It was also an easy replacement, and the old bench can be used for floor presses. Lastly, it costs $50 for the wide back or $75 with the seat pad, which is also a nice addition.
Cost Effective Pulley System (No DIY)
The Bells of Steel Pully Attachment is a budget and space-friendly replacement for a lat attachment that typically attaches to a pull-up bar (like mentioned above) or power rack. For $49.99, this pulley system has the ability to add many pulley based exercises to your home gym at a fraction of the price and space needed. Lat pulldowns, tricep press downs, face pulls, and you have the ability to get creative with two.
While it does not match the function and versatility of a dedicated system, it’s a tough deal to beat if you want to try and replicate one without going all in. Furthermore, this is a high-quality pulley with a max weight load of 440 lbs.
Get out of the Garage with the Rucker 3.0
GGE slid into the DM’s of @goruck to ask what was the best rucksack for beginners. They responded with, “Definitely the Rucker.” Whether you just want something to spice up your afternoon dog walks or add some resistance to your hiking, this is an excellent option for someone looking to get a workout outside of their home gym.
Some details include:
- The plates slide up easily within the back pockets inside the bag, and it includes solid pads in all the right spots to make carrying a heavy weight on your back as comfortable as possible.
- With 1000D CORDURA as the primary material (similar to sandbags), it’s made with high quality built to last. The 3.0 is also very water-resistant.
- It’s not bulky, but there is still some additional room for whatever you might need.
- Ruck Plates are available, but it’s important to note that most weight plates that come from weighted plate vests will also work. Change plates will also do the trick. Therefore, if you have some lying around, this could be a nice introductory weight before splurging on the more expensive and heavier ones.
- This bag starts at $185, which is more than the typical option you’d find at Dick’s Sporting Goods, but this should last a lifetime if maintained.
