How likely are you to purchase an item you think you want with a 3.7, 4.2, or 4.7 rating?
- As you’d expect, the higher the rating, the better the chance interest would still be there.
- Even with a 3.7 rating, there was a 57% chance (likely + very likely) that you’d still purchase an item you originally were interested in. Also, the “very unlikely rating” is only 5%, so there seems to be a chance of purchase as long as the consumer comes to the item interested.
- A 4.7 rating would probably seal the deal for most. 62% say they’d be “very likely” to purchase, whereas it’s only 33% for a 4.2 rating and just 5% for a 3.7.

There were a number of true/false or yes/no questions from last week:
- 84% would say that they are building out their home gym one piece at a time.
- 46% have made purchases based on someone that they personally know.
- 57% know someone that has purchased gym equipment based on their advice. This is no surprise considering who is answering these questions.
- 36% say they are out of space to add to their home gym.
- 52% wish they had more cardio options in their gym.
- Black Friday/Cyber Monday disappointed many looking for a steal. In the end, 45% of respondents made an equipment purchase but 57% went into the week thinking they’d buy something.
Which equipment company has the best marketing? Rogue dominated this one. In second place was…. Peloton jokes. Some other mentions include:
- EliteFTS – “it isn’t about marketing, it’s about uplifting the sport” and “they have 20 years of free content.”
- Rep Fitness – several mentions of great Instagram posts and “provides videos showcasing all new equipment.”
- Sorinex – “equipment is stellar with a culture you want to be apart of.” Also, “they are all over the podcasts and IG pages strength athletes.
- Fringe – “It’s unique,” “the owner is very active in it,” and “it’s fun”
- PRX, Force USA, ATX, Kubaki Strength, and Eleiko also had mentions.
