This bar was made for the dynamic movements used during the olympic lifts. The sleeve rotation for lifts like power cleans and the snatch is extremely smooth. The eight total needle bearings spin effortlessly and it has a good whip. Many of the higher end weightlifting bars have a total of ten needle bearings, but most will not ever wish that this ISF bar spun even more. Many of those are at least double the price. Regardless, the smoothness of this bar for olympic lifts is what makes this a high performing barbell.
The grip is comfortable and the knurling is smooth. Some may call it a light knurl, while others say it’s a medium. Regardless, it’s going to be easier on the hands during the high volume work sessions but still easy to grip. If needed, it does pair well with chalk.
