Torque Fitness Endless Rope Review

The Endless Rope from Torque is a dynamic attachment that can be added to most power racks or drilled to a wall. Within a small footprint that doesn’t take up any floor space, you have the ability to do many movements, and they can be KILLER. The harder you pull, the harder you work. This is similar to the Torque Tanks or Rogue Echo Bike.

The Endless Rope is a great warmup, finisher, superset option, and in general, a great strength/conditioning combo. Without question, this is a premium product. This is not going to win any “best overall value” awards, though.

Unless money is no object for you, it will not be a viable option for most home gym owners because of the price. At nearly $1,100, it’s just too much for most to swallow, even if it is much cheaper than similar endless ropes on the market. That’s the price of a power rack for many. Therefore, who is it for?

  • Those with an unlimited budget. You most likely have everything you “NEED” for a home gym and want a new toy.
  • If you train people for a living, this is an investment that could pay dividends. This would be another tool that personal trainers could have in their arsenal, and with multiple resistance levels, it’s suitable for multiple fitness levels. Group classes would definitely benefit from a tool like this.
  • You love rope climbs and do not have the ability to do this within your home gym setting because of ceiling height.

This unit was built exceptionally well and used the same sort of technology as the popular M1 Tank, another sweet piece of equipment offered by Torque. With 4 different resistance levels, it’s straightforward to use, and the overall construction is sturdy. It sits rock solid upon the power rack shown in these pictures. It’s also worth noting there is a 10-year warranty on the frame, 1 year on parts, and 90 days on miscellaneous items.

Here are a few additional notes on using it:

  • As previously mentioned. There are 4 resistance levels. You can think about it like this. Level 1 is like moving a chair from the dining room to the other side of the room, while level 4 is “cabinet-level moving difficulty.” Just about anyone can move the chair while the cabinet is going to take some grunt work. Moving cabinets is clunky, though. This is not.
  • For those familiar with using a SkiErg, the resistance on the Endless Rope on much higher than the top setting on a SkiErg.
  • The swivel system allows for using the rope at many different angles, rather than just up and down like a traditional rope climb. This adds some versatility to the number of movements you can do.
  • It’s bidirectional, meaning there is the force needed to pull both sides of the rope.
  • This attachment is extremely quiet. It makes quite a bit less noise than other popular cardio machines (Rogue Echo Bike, SkiErg, etc.).
  • The rope is easy to grip. There is no issue with holding on.

The primary feature missing is a “performance tracker,” like what you see on rowers, air bikes, or the Concept 2 SkiErg within the pic below. For these, you can measure the actual distance and calories within a certain time, and they can be strategically placed within a workout. You can also monitor performance over time. For the Torque Endless Rope, you have to either set a timer or “just go.” Some monitors would make this a much more appealing product for many because they are used to using these performance trackers. The price may even be worth it for more people.

A couple other notes include:

  • In the picture below, it’s 89″ at it’s tallest. This is about as low as most will want it to go.

  • There is one portion of the rope that is “not perfect.” There is a slight bump and it has been frayed a bit. However, it does not affect the overall functionality. Side note, this has been used as a “lap counter.” It’s easy to see how many times you’ve gone around with this slight bump. The rope could benefit from some sort of make like this.

In the end, it’s one of the more impressive attachments you’ll see available. It should be in the conversation as one of THE BEST rack attachments available. However, the price is going to be a limiting factor for many. At $1,095, it’s one of those options many won’t consider if they are purchasing it for their home gym. However, if you can swallow the price or use it for your gym/personal training business, it’s a remarkable attachment.
