Introduction
The 4-post style power rack is an excellent option for your home gym because you can lift safely, and you’re able to add rack attachments and bring in more versatility to your home gym. The 2×2″ 4-post rack is your budget-friendly power rack, and for most lifters, it is all you would ever need. Titan fitness makes a ton of rack attachments for their T2 series rack, which is their 2×2″ option, and here is the best part: those attachments work for other 2×2″ racks as well!
Titan Attachments on Other Racks
In other reviews, we’ve touched on this, but Titan uses a pin safety for some of their rack attachments. If your rack does not use the same 2″ hole spacing, odds are you will not be able to use the pin safeties. Most of these attachments will still work, but you won’t have the added safety measures. Fortunately, they do not use a pin safety for the dip handles so that the handles will work for your 2×2″ rack with 1″ holes.
The Dip Handles
The handles come shipped to your door in two pieces are can be assembled ready to use in under 10 minutes.
Setting the bars up for use does not take long. It is as simple as inserting the 1″ hardware and allowing the handles to twist down to secure them into the rack.
The handles themselves do have some weight. Each handle weighs (INSERT WEIGHT), and when they are not in use, they are a bulky item to store. That being said, when you consider that you are turning your rack into a dip station, the attachments are not that large for what you get out of them.
One thing to consider (that may be obvious to some) is that you don’t want to set the bars too high, especially if you are leaning forward to target your chest and front shoulders. The crossbar or pull-up bar will sit just overhead, and from experience, it is not pleasant to press yourself up and hit your head.
Instead, place the dip handles at a height where you can get set up from a standing position and bend your knees to put your body in part for the exercise.
These dip handles have a nice angled position, but where they fall short compared to others is that you cannot adjust the angles. The other variation (the y-bar dip attachment) allows you to grab further out for a wider grip or closer to the y-angle for a more narrow grip. The dip handles only give you one grip option.
Conclusion
One of the significant benefits of having a 4-post rack is adding versatile attachments to it, and these dip handles are just that. These will get the job done if you have a 2×2″ rack with 1″ holes and are in the market for a dip handle attachment. The cost is $70, and there are no complaints.
