Company Overview

The Smith Brothers all started their training careers in their garage. They have evolved their techniques and training programs over time which has enabled them to develop their weaknesses and become as well-rounded as possible, making them as fit as possible and ready for the unknown. Positive gains at home in your garage or in your backyard are not impossible but it takes hard work, motivation, and good programming. The SMITH’s GARAGE offers time-tested, proven programming for anyone at any level of fitness. Whether you’re looking for ideas on improving strength, fitness, gymnastics, or strategy, this programming is for you. Daily workouts, gymnastics skills, strength cycles, endurance workouts, and much more are available with “The Smiths Garage” membership. These workouts are designed for a duration of 20 minutes and offer “equipment-less” options for those who lack adequate training facilities. Equipment Needed

Smith Bros Garage offers a ‘No Equipment’ track for those with no equipment. We also offer movement substitutions for EVERY movement in our daily workouts. If you do not have the equipment necessary to complete a workout that WILL NOT be a problem. The main pieces of equipment we recommend you have is either a barbell with a few bumper plates OR a pair of Dumbbells. You will see movements that require a pullup bar, a box to jump/step on, and a bench. But again, there will be movement substitutions if you do not have the required equipment.

Tracks We Offer(All Are included in your $20 membership)

FIT

A classic CrossFit/Functional workout of the day. If you go hard enough this will be enough for the day. This track is for all fitness abilities. We provide scales and movement substitutions if a movement cannot be completed or you simply do not have the equipment necessary to do it. Creativity and thought go into every workout and there’s a daily workout brief for every one. We’ve got Moms, Dads, Athletes, Grandparents, Kids… you name it, following this track. You get out what you put into it. Our coaching staff and community is here to motivate you every step of the way. Our NO EQUIPTMENT Track is programmed in relation to our “Fit” track. Meaning that you do not need any equipment at all to complete our No Equipment track but you will still get a good workout in regardless. 

Strength/Pump  

This is 20 minutes of functional bodybuilding and strength work focusing on different muscle groups every day. You won’t breath as heavy but you will be feeling good afterwards. The main focus is to gain muscle mass in the shortest amount of time necessary to do so. This program can be an add-on to a current exercise program you’re already following. Or if you only have 20 minutes to run out in the garage and do something real quick (we’ve all been there) this is perfect for you. Even if you have a gym membership to somewhere else, this track is a perfect compliment to any program you’re following.

Gymnastics

We’re excited about this one… This unique track is available only to Smith Bros Garage Members and is programmed by Alec Smith. Alec is known for his dominance in Gymnastics specific events throughout his CrossFit career. Alec has coached and competed in gymnastics for a good amount of his life.  We are offering 3 Gymnastics specific workouts a week to our members. These workouts include improving specific gymnastics related skills such as Hand Stand Walking, Pull-Ups, Muscle Ups, ect… Sound intimidating? Its not, this is probably the most rewarding track of them all if you stick with it! If you’re not interested in this kind of stuff just follow the other tracks 😉 

Endurance

We run 3x a week at varied intervals and intensity’s… We also program 3 additional either row, bike, or ski workouts. if you’ve got the extra time or want to take a day to jog it out this track is perfect to get you moving. There will be one easy strain, one moderate strain, and one hard strain endurance workout a week. 

Core

Core workouts are offered EVERY DAY (6x/week). Core workouts can be done wherever whenever, with no equipment required. Core workouts are vital for good back health, strength, and looking good! 🙂 Alec and Dane will be programming these workouts for you. 

How did your company start?

Our company was created back in 2010 when Ben Smith began his CrossFit career out of his garage. Ben has always programmed for himself and has developed his programming and skills over the years. His programming has been mainly for competitive athletes. In 2019 his younger brother, Dane Smith, came up with the idea to program more for dads/moms working out with limited time and equipment. Ben had just had a baby girl and Dane had just had his twins and both were going through the struggle of finding the time they used to, to workout and have enough energy to enjoy time with their family.  DadBod Fitness was created out of that idea and the program exploded. DadBod Fitness had 200 members in the first few months it launched and seemed to bring together a community of like-minded individuals who all struggled to find the time to workout. The program was unique in a way that it offered workouts to members that could be done in 20 minutes or less, and at the same time offered extra programs to follow on the days where members felt like they had some extra time! The name was changed in 2021 to the Smith Bros Garage because the final smith brother moved back into town and added a ‘gymnastics track’ to the program! Now the Smith Brothers are all back together training and creating A program that ANYONE can benefit from!

Cost to Use? Do you offer a free trial?

Every track and program we offer is available for a rate of $20 Dollars a month. We also offer a free 7 day trial! No contracts required and you can cancel anytime. We wanted to make a program that was affordable and doable for all walks of life!

What training modalities are offered?

What type of person would benefit from your programming?

Absolutely anyone! The program was initially created for busy parents/working adults. Dane follows this programming and is a first responder in the Chesapeake Fire Department. Its great for that type of training as well. But anyone could benefit from our high intensity type workouts that will get you in and out of the gym in 20 minutes.

Current location and where do you serve?

We are based out of Chesapeake Virginia and offer programming to anyone in the world!

How is your programming different than everyone else?

Our programming is broken up into different time domains. Meaning if you have only got 20 minutes workout for that day, you choose to do just one of our tracks that day that will take 20 minutes to complete. If you have got 40 minutes, you can choose to complete 2 tracks that day. So your daily routine may be different than another members based off of how much time you have available to spend in the gym/garage that day. We are also very family oriented and would like to think we have created a community that can push each other through common struggles and motivate each other to get out and move! Even if its just for 20 minutes a day, that is all you will need!

We are most proud of our member’s results and testimonials. We have had a lot of parents specifically reach out to us and testify that our program has made them excited about working out again. They have been able to get family involved in workouts and have been able to get in and out of the gym quicker to spend more time with family!
