Intro
You have the landmine. Now, you want some intimidating pieces of equipment to go with it. You know… to confuse the neighbors and the family members that visit. Just kidding. What you actually need are some complimentary items so that you can take full advantage of your versatile, space-efficient tool.
The Rogue Parallel Landmine Handles are some of the beefiest attachments out there and would make a solid addition to any landmine setup. These are well-made, easy to use, sturdy, and not too tough on the wallet.
Usage
The handle is primarily to be used as a landmine row. It wasn’t easy to find other ways to use it. Therefore, they aren’t necessarily the most versatile attachment but do help perform this movement extremely well.
The angle provides for quite a bit of distance between you and the plates. In addition, the slight groove on the handle allows for a deeper pull as you are going rows. Therefore, you won’t have any issues with the plates hitting you. While it is not knurled, it’s still easy to grip with a textured powder-coat finish. In a perfect world, this would be knurled, but that would also likely add to the cost.
One of the primary features that make this a premium attachment is the beveled edge of tubing that connects to your barbell. This helps prevent damage to the sleeve of your bar and is a feature that many “cheaper” options do not include. This means that you don’t necessarily have to use a “beater bar” or worry about tearing up your traditional bar.
Handle Options
There are two handle options. The fat grip is 1.9″ in diameter, while the standard is 1.3.” The thicker one is about 14 pounds and the thinner, 12 pounds. While it does come down to personal preference, the fat grip feels more natural in the hands and seems to isolate the targeted area better.
Other Notes
- The cost is similar to a dinner date. At $70 + shipping + taxes, it’ll likely end up around $95, which is actually cheaper than traditional landmine options. Titan Fitness does sell an option that is quite a bit cheaper (no reviews on this yet).
- The overall construction of these handles is done well, and it’s a nice-looking attachment that includes the Rogue logo laser cut on the side.
- The powder coat will scratch relatively easily, but it will not affect its functionality. After about a year or so, some scratches are visible but still look basically new, especially from a distance.
- It’s a little more difficult with more weight, but the handle doubles as a deadlift jack. Therefore, it’s easy to slide plates on and off.
Conclusion
In the end, this is a nice add-on to any landmine station. Is it a home gym essential? Absolutely not, but it’s a sturdy piece of equipment that will give you some additional versatility for back workouts. If you miss your t-bar workouts from your commercial gym, this is a solid alternative.
