🤔What’s something you would have done differently if you could do it again when building out your home gym?

This was our #sundaysurveydiscussion. Some of the key themes included:

  • Don’t wait to long for good flooring.
  • People buying the wrong size rack. Many expressed interest in just having a half rack over a power rack.
  • Waiting too long and gym equipment ultimately got more expensive.

mattpendergraph I would have chosen a different rack color!! So tired of RED!! 🤦‍♂️ Clear satin or blue is where it’s at!!

thefettlefamily Probably would have measured where I wanted everything a little more and laid flooring first.

ricecracker2487 Gone with a half rack instead of my full power rack

dsweanyolg Probably go with a Rep instead of my Rogue RM5. Love the rack I have but hate that the Rep/Titan attachments fit so snug and most need to be modified to fit.

With a rep rack, I could enjoy the cheaper attachments from other companies while still getting to use Rogues if I wanted. American made is great, just costing way more as I build it out than wanted.

Ex: Rep spotter arms shipped for 200ish vs rogues 350+ shipping.

It is what it is 🤷‍♂️

catholicsubmariner88 My rack type, I bought a lower end @repfitnessequipment rack, and while it’s been good knowing I’m gonna have to upgrade is killing me. I wish I had saved a little longer and bought what I wanted originally instead of settling for what was available

themusclewizard As much as I love my incredible custom power rack- I’d probably just get a custom beefy yoke to squat and bench out of. Then I’d have room for a stand alone prime stack or something similar. Still save overall space and have more versatility

🔨You love to see an upgrade like this (via @mk.barbell)

“Probably our final project this summer. Took us the whole Friday to put the carpets down but very worth it!!! No more uneven platform with eyesore scrap wood and flooring, annoying tiles, and slippery turf for bench.

Platform: 2x 3/4″ osb, 2 layers of stall mat then carpet. Had to be this thick to level the barbell gun-rack.

Hardest part was moving all the weights and rack!!! Garage gym 95% done, maybe…..”
