Genesis Jack 2.0 Review

It can be frustrating loading and unloading a barbell with a ton of weight on it during a deadlift session.  You may be so used to it that you don’t realize this, but there is a better way.

The Genesis Jack 2.0 is one answer to this.

Handmade in Tempe, Arizona, this deadlift jack features aluminum construction that weighs less than 2 pounds but can hold a ton of weight (tested up to 425 lbs on one side without any issues). You slide it under the barbell and “jack” it up. The design makes it nearly effortless to lift even this amount of weight. Plus, since it’s lightweight and takes up basically zero footprint, the jack can easily be put in a bag and taken anywhere.

The GJ 2.0 is very easy to grip. The handle includes plastic inserts and a “finger recessed” design, making it comfortable to use. In addition, there are similar types of inserts that ensure your barbell and floor are protected.

The Genesis Jack 2.0 is not only a masterful design but aesthetically pleasing. With a raw finish and laser-etched logo towards the bottom. Your friends will be impressed when they come over, and it’ll definitely get you some “home gym clout.”

At $99.99, it’s priced in between a true deadlift jack and a dead wedge but would still be considered an “extra” and not necessarily a home gym necessity. $99 for a deadlift jack may be a hard price to swallow when you have other items on your wish list while building out your home gym.

However, the biggest benefit of this device is that it saves time. Hypothetically, let’s say it ultimately saves about 3 minutes per deadlift session (for heavy sessions, that’s conservative). If you need to use it twice a week, it ultimately saves you 6 minutes a week. Then, you multiply that by 52 weeks a year. That adds up to over 5 hours a year. Are 5 hours saved + a ton of frustration saved worth $99? It will also last many, many years, so keep that in mind.
