Introduction
If I were to build my home gym again, I would likely choose the Ironmaster Super Bench Pro, which is not how I felt before getting my hands on one. It’s also how I’d most likely answer the question of “what bench should I get if I don’t want to spend over $500?”
I’ve also picked this with hypothetical $5,000 and $10,000 home gym buildouts.
Ironmaster has done a very solid job creating a bench that is strong but easy to move around and also incredibly versatile.
Prior to acquiring an Ironmaster Bench, I was quite skeptical about the many reviewers who recommended it as the best option for a home gym. I’m a bigger guy and simply thought the bulkier options with wider pads would be better for me.
However, owning one changed my perspective. The Ironmaster Super Bench Pro is versatile, durable, and easy to handle. Although the initial cost may be higher than some prefer, the overall value of this bench is exceptional.
This Super Bench PRO V2 review will explore its features, benefits, and why it might be the perfect addition to your home gym setup.
There’s also another option I’d seriously consider if I were starting my home gym again, which offers a different set of advantages. I’ll discuss that at the end of this review.
Durable and Stable
As I mentioned above, I was a bit skeptical about this bench for 200+ lb people, but quickly realized that this bench is a beast.

The bench has a 1000 lb weight rating when it’s in the flat position, and after using it, I can fully believe that claim. It’s made from 11 and 12-gauge steel, which is incredibly tough and gives the bench a very solid, secure feel. This heavy-duty steel construction ensures that the bench doesn’t wobble or feel flimsy, even under significant weight.
When the bench is set to an incline, it can still handle up to 600 lbs. This makes it not just strong but also versatile, allowing for a variety of workouts without sacrificing safety.

Easy to Move Around & Convenient
The Ironmaster Super Pro bench is incredibly easy to move around, making it ideal for any home gym setup, but this comes especially handy for those dealing with tight spaces.

Weighing just 65 lbs, it’s light enough for most people to handle without any issues. Plus, with the integrated wheels and transport handle, you can quickly roll it into position or tuck it away when not in use. Whether you’re limited on space, like to store away when not in use or just need to rearrange your gym, the portability of this bench is a huge plus.

In addition, it stores vertically. Therefore, I’m able to easily squeeze it into an open area when I want to put it away.

Removable Seat & Height Adjustments
One of the standout features is the removable seat, which can be easily adjusted depending on how you plan to use the bench.
This allows for quite a bit more versatility and a number of different possibilities like seal rows without the seat hindering.

Another thing worth noting: unlike most adjustable benches, the Ironmaster has no gap when laid flat, which is great for flat bench exercises.

I also appreciate the three adjustable seat height settings. These help me get the right angles for specific exercises and allow the seat to be removed for movements like shoulder presses or tricep extensions with a cable system. The adjustable heights also make it easy for different users to find a comfortable position.

Attachments
There are several attachments available for the Ironmaster Super Bench Pro.
I have personally tested the crunch attachment, which I find extremely beneficial for decline bench and ab movements. The bench feels sturdy enough for these exercises.

Please keep in mind that I have only tested this attachment, but it’s reassuring to know that other attachments can be added to the bench in the future.
Here’s an overview of the most common attachments:
- Crunch Sit-up Attachment
- Allows for decline sit-ups, crunches, and various bench angles.
- Leg Attachment
- Used for leg extensions and leg curls.
- Dip Bar Attachment
- Attaches to the top of the bench and enables dip exercises for the triceps, chest, and shoulders.
- Chin-up Bar Attachment
- Designed for pull-ups and chin-ups.
- Preacher Curl Attachment
- Supports preacher curls to isolate the biceps.
- Cable Tower Attachment
- Adds a cable system to the bench for pulldowns, rows, and other cable exercises.

Cost
The Ironmaster Super Bench Pro is not a budget option, but is it worth the price? I believe it is.
As mentioned in the review, its build quality, adjustability, and versatility make it an attractive choice for many. Additionally, its durability far surpasses budget-friendly benches, which tend to wear out and require replacement sooner.
In terms of value, the Super Bench Pro is a solid investment for those looking for a long-lasting, highly versatile, and sturdy bench. While it may seem expensive at first, the variety of exercises made possible by its attachments makes it ideal for serious home gym enthusiasts.
If you’re just starting out or don’t need all the options, a mid-range bench may be sufficient. However, if durability and expandability are important to you, the Ironmaster Super Bench Pro truly stands out in its class.

Drawbacks
While the Ironmaster Super Pro bench has many strengths, it does come with a few drawbacks to consider. First, the bench doesn’t have a ladder-style adjustment system, which means adjusting the incline/decline can take a little more time and effort compared to some other benches. In addition, while the bench is highly durable and stable, it’s not the cheapest option out there, so it may not be ideal for those on a tighter budget.
I know this isn’t a big deal to many, but there are better-looking benches out there as well. That may be a big deal for some.
Lastly, I would like to mention that I really like the wide pad options available on other adjustable benches like the REP AB-5200. With the Ironmaster option, you are only able to use the stock option.

Other Information
- The bench requires some assembly upon arrival, but the process is straightforward and typically takes about 30-45 minutes.
- The bench has a powder-coated finish that enhances durability and helps resist scratches and rust.
- I find the vinyl to be durable and provide a solid grip. However, it can get a bit slippery during sweaty sessions. I prefer the grippier material that REP uses – for example.
- When in the flat position, there are 2 width pad options. On one end is 12″ while the other is just over 10.” The 10″ option is also the only side where decline/incline can be used. Therefore, that may be a negative if you prefer a wider pad for incline or decline.
- This or a REP bench? I’m a big fan of many options from REP, and if I were starting my home gym again, it would probably come down to this bench or the REP AB-5200, which has a wide pad option. If space and ease of moving the bench around isn’t an issue, the REP AB-5200 or the Blackwing could be good choices. That said, I use this bench for dumbbell exercises, within the rack, and on the smith machine. Therefore, I move it around quite a bit. I actually owned both benches at one point but decided to keep this one. However, I do miss the wide pad option sometimes. I also think the Ironmaster bench is more suited to a wide variety of sizes, so a great option for a husband and wife, for example.

Conclusion
The Ironmaster Super Bench Pro is a top contender for anyone serious about building a versatile and durable home gym. Its sturdy construction, high weight capacity, and range of available attachments make it a standout option. Despite my initial skepticism, this bench has proven to be both strong and incredibly easy to move, even for larger individuals.
While it may not be the cheapest option on the market, the Super Bench Pro’s build quality, adjustability, and versatility make it well worth the investment. The ability to expand its functionality with various attachments ensures it can grow with your fitness needs over time.
Though it may take a little more effort to adjust and lacks a wider pad option, the bench’s overall performance far outweighs these minor drawbacks. If you’re looking for a long-lasting and adaptable bench that can handle a wide variety of exercises, the Ironmaster Super Bench Pro is an excellent choice for any home gym setup.

Great review on the Ironmaster Superbench.
