Introduction

Hello, October!

Here’s a recap of the main home gym products released in September 2024.

To follow along each week, make sure you are subscribed to Knurled News, where this info is shared on a weekly basis.

RX3 Tornado Rack Series

GET RXd is building off of their RX3 options with a Tornado Rack Series.

These include tornado arms that hook up to the pulley system. They swivel and include many other positioning options. They seem to be quite impressive!

There are three options here:

It looks like you’ll be able to buy the Tornado Pivot Arms as a standalone item in early 2025 to add to existing racks.

Limited Edition Medusa Power Bar

The Medusa Bar was teased at HomeGymCon, and it is finally here.

This limited edition Medusa Power Bar celebrates Medusa’s strength and determination. Its colorful endcaps feature her iconic gaze, while the 29mm shaft has a custom green Cerakote finish that mimics her serpent hair and adds protection against corrosion and impacts. The barbell also includes scratch-resistant graphite PVD weight plate sleeves for durability and bronze bushings for smooth rotation.

I’m guessing that this barbell won’t be available for too long.

VECHS Speed Pins

The VECHS Speed Pins from Surplus Strength feature a proprietary slot for attaching various carabiners, making them ideal for band exercises, Henny straps, belt squats, and more. Made from stainless steel, these pins offer superior strength and versatility compared to the aluminum version.

This makes them the most versatile and likely strongest speed pins on the market.

Hyper Thin 45 LB Bumper Plates from HomeGrown Lifting (Made in USA)

The Hyper-Thin 45s are explicitly designed for home gyms with limited space, and are a direct product because of the feedback from the community.

These are American Made Bumper Plates.

At just 2.4″ thick, these plates let you load up to 600 lbs while maintaining the flexibility and durability of traditional bumper plates.

Available in colored fleck and sold in pairs, these plates are crafted from a durable rubber crumb and urethane binder, featuring a 2″ press fit collar for a secure fit.

Rack-attached utility Seats can be used for a number of different movements, such as box squats, seal rows step-ups, hip thrusts, Bulgarian split squats, and many plyometric exercises like box jumps.

Bells of Steel now has a utility seat for their 3×3 racks.

Some key features include:

  • It fits TRUE 3″“x3”, 49-in wide racks with 5/8” or 1” holes.
  • It weighs 30.6 lbs without the pad and is steel-reinforced wood, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to
  • An additional cushion can be purchased to help make certain movements (like seal row) more comfortable

It’s 10% off right now. Check it out.

Updated Iron Skull Power Bar

The Iron Skull Power Bar has been redesigned to enhance durability and performance. It features a 29mm diameter, a 1,500lb weight capacity, and aggressive knurling with a center knurl for improved grip. The bar is constructed with a stiffness greater than standard bars and has a tensile strength of 200,000 PSI, making it suitable for heavy lifting and rigorous training.

Flooring Options from REP

REP has added two flooring options to their catalog. They are not close to as price efficient as horse stall mats, but will

  1. Gray Fleck Puzzle Tiles: These interlocking rubber tiles are easy to install, protect your floors, and offer a stylish workout space. They’re made with recycled materials and come in various sizes and shapes to fit your gym layout. To give you an idea of cost. It would take 50 tiles to fill 200 square feet. The overall cost for those tiles are $909.88. They do look good though and it is likely a 1 time purchase.

  1. Commercial Flooring Rolls: Made from recycled materials, these rolls are ideal for commercial gyms and high-performance home gyms. You can choose from various thicknesses and colors to create a customized workout space that is both functional and visually appealing. To see pricing, you’ll need to “request pricing.”

Feather Barbell for VTS

The VTS is in many home gyms now, and the overall feedback seems to be that it is an impressive tool.

In an effort to continue building a better experience around the product, BF has added a “Feather Barbell and Weight Horn” option that you can use rather than your own barbell.

This will allow those with the unit to have a significantly smaller starting weight and will allow for faster swapping times to the single-handle option or vice versa.

The bar includes a 29mm diameter and 1,000 lb weight capacity.

The Milo

Rogue released a bike?

Yep. It’s called The Milo, and they partnered with Aaron Stinner, owner of Stinner Frameworks in Santa Barbara, California, who has been designing since 2010.

I am not a bike expert (so keep that in mind), but the biggest differentiator is that this is a belt-driven bike, as opposed to a chain. Therefore, it should require less maintenance, will be quiet, and you won’t have to deal with the grease of a chained option.

In the product description, it states that a belt-driven system should outlast chans by 3:1 or more and that it is designed for long-distance urban commuting or off-road cycling.

Thus, it’s most likely not intended for the most serious bike riders.
