July 2024 – Product Releases for the Home Gym

Introduction

Below is a look at most of the product releases we saw for the home gym in July 2024.

To follow along each week, make sure you are subscribed to Knurled News, where this info is shared on a weekly basis.

Rogue Echo Weight Vest

The Rogue Echo Weight Vest has a minimalist design and several features aimed at improving functionality and comfort. These components include padded adjustable shoulder straps, padded internal lining, reflective accents, a front pocket with Velcro closure, and a padded 3-inch-wide belt with built-in elastic for stretch around the rib cage.

It appears to be pretty similar to the Rogue Plate Carrier but even more minimalist.

This option is not Made in the USA like the alternative mentioned above, though.

It is currently available only in Coyote Brown. Ranger green and black will be available soon.

Single Column Trainers from Get RXd

Standalone columns have become very popular recently. They pack quite a big punch within a smaller footprint.

The RX3 FreeStanding Single Column Trainer 3000 is another Single Column Functional Trainer but made with 3″x3″ uprights, 11-gauge steel, and 1″ holes for additional attachments and potential to connect with other posts.

In addition, the pulley ratio can be adjusted from 2:1 to 1:1.

In addition to the option above, Get RXd also launched the Wall-Mount Single Colum Trainer 3000, which has similar features but is to be mounted to the wall for additional space savings.

RX3 Freestanding Racks from Get RXd

Highlighted above are the free-standing RX3 options, but there are also several racks with the posts combined as racks.

The first is the RX3 Freestanding 3000 rack.

As a reminder, these are made with 3”x3” uprights, 11-gauge steel, and 1” holes for additional attachments.

Plus, the pulley ratio can be adjusted from 2:1 to 1:1.

The second is the wall-mounted version, which has similar features but is designed to be mounted to the wall.

Both include pretty solid pre-order savings.

Griffin Monolift Attachment 2.0

A popular item from Griffin Fitness has been updated. The Griffin Monolift Attachment 2.0, which is best known for being the easiest to adjust, now includes:

  • A longer reach and larger hook so there’s more room for your barbell to rest.
  • The ability to lock the hooks in place to use as a traditional j-cup.
  • More UHMW protection is included as well to protect your barbell.
  • Chrome pin to prevent upright scratching.

Rower & Ski Trainer from Force USA

I was able to test out these new cardio options from Force USA, and they are solid—pretty standard compared to others.

I’m not sure you are going to find them at this low price, though.

The Rower is smooth, includes 10 resistance levels, compatible with Bluetooth, and includes a foldaway design. Again, pretty standard.

The Ski Trainer also has 10 resistance levels, is portable, has a slip-resistant base, etc.

Hydra Universal Storage

With the Hydra Universal Storage System, Bells of Steel just released a robust and versatile storage option for you to store basically anything in your gym.

You have the ability to choose from numerous upright heights, colors, width options, shelve styles, and more.

Plate storage and additional attachments, like a seal row pad, can be added to serve as more than just a storage option.

How does it compare to the REP Modular Storage that was released a few months ago? Here are a few notes that stand out to me.

  • It is not cheaper than the REP option unless you are filling primarily with the plate pin shelves (which are cool) or the medicine ball shelves. The dumbbell/kettlebell shelves are quite a bit more expensive to add.
  • It does not cost more to choose different colors from REP, but the price increase to blue or purple is substantial from Bells.
  • Bells of Steel does have more height and width options, which is very important for many & better for people with specific spaces. For example, I really like that you can add an option with a 30” width.

Arcadia™ Max Functional Trainer from REP

The Arcadia Max Functional Trainers are an upgrade to the FT 5000 model & beefier than the new Arcadia. The most notable specs and details include:

  • 87” Tall, 75.5” Wide, and 44” Deep.
  • Dual 220 lbs weight stacks with 2:1 ratio.
    • Can upgrade to 270 lbs.
    • Can add even more resistance with integrated band pegs (max resistance of 540 lbs).
  • Aluminum Pulleys included
  • Two fully knurled D-Handles are included
  • Built-in (Wall Control Style) Pegboard to store attachments on.
  • “Multiple design touches like our unique patented trolly style, a durable metallic powdercoat, oversized pop-pins,” etc

New Colors for the Rogue Manta Ray Adjustable Bench

Ten new Rogue Manta-Ray color options are now available; there was just a single color offered. Burnt orange, gun metal, bright green, satin clear, and Rogue red are a few.

Leg Curl/Leg Extension Add-On from PRx

A little over a year ago, PRx released the Axis Pad, and now have their first add-on to it – the Leg Curl/Leg Extension.

If it is in the correct location, you can use it as a weight horn or connect it to a pulley.

The price of the Axis Pad + Leg Curl/Extension is about the same price as The Isolator from Bulletproof Fitness.

I was able to check it out in my recent trip to Fargo.

The leg movements felt about as effective as the Isolator when using the plate-loaded option, but when attached to a pulley system, you could definitely feel tension from the beginning of the movement, which was a great benefit.

They are both solid rack-mounted options, but this is one to consider if you would rather have the pad as a secondary option compared to all of the other configurations you can use with The Isolator.

Force USA Storage Racks

Force USA has a nice option with their new Storage Racks. Based on space available, these come in Base and Pro versions, and both keep your rack attachments organized and easy to grab.

It is sort of like a beefed-up version of Wall Control on Wheels.

With secure rubber grips and multiple mounting points, you can customize your workout space and quickly find everything you need.

EZ-Grip Elite Urethane Plates from Titan

Titan just launched these EZ Grip Urethane Plates.

They have textured edges that make them easy to grip. They are also pretty thin and have an interlocking design that allows for efficient barbell loading and storage.

In, addition, they are coated with urethane, which mean they’ll be durable, include a reduced bounce, should be odorless, and honestly typically look better than standard bumpers.

As you can see in the picture below, the colors POP.

Hydra 7 Ring Bar from Bells of Steel

We saw the Statera Weight Bar at HomeGymCon, which includes 18 knurl marks, but this new option from Bells of Steel is a bit simpler.

The Hydra Ring Bar includes seven marks in total: three pairs of rings each for weightlifting and powerlifting and a “close” one.

Plus, there is one in the middle.

This should help proper alignment for just about any lift and may be especially beneficial for beginners.

This bar includes a moderate knurl, bare steel shaft finish, hardened chrome sleeves, and Brass Bushings (view more specs).

HAVAK Mass

The HAVAK Mass is one of the most innovative and well-thought-out products I’ve seen in a while.

Not only can you perform trap bar movements with center loading or with plates on four corners, but it also separates as a strongman frame.

In addition, multiple grip widths, weight horns, and several finish options are available. The price starts at $999.99.

It’s quite unlike anything I’ve seen and tough to describe, so below are a bunch of pictures.

Turf from Titan

This new turf from Titan is available in green or black and comes in 15 feet x 4 feet rolls.

In the product overview, it states that it is compatible with Titan Rubber Flooring, which is .315 inches in height.

The price is $219.99 per roll. I did a little bit of searching on line, and this seems to be a very good price, with most needing to be custom orders.
