In the first half of 2024, a wide range of companies released many fantastic products for home gyms.

Without question, the competition for the community’s attention is at an all-time high, and we are seeing a lot of innovation from various companies.

Below is a look at most of the product releases we saw for the home gym in the first half of 2024. To follow along each week, make sure you are subscribed to Knurled News, where this info is shared on a regular basis.

REP

Maybe preemptively, but the REP x PÉPIN FAST Series Adjustable Dumbbells have quickly become the top dumbbell choice for many home gym owners.

The REPPINS will be more durable than Nuobells and much less compact than Powerblocks. Plus, they are priced pretty reasonable!

Therefore, they fill a pretty pivotal role in the market.

Additional highlights of these include:

  • Made entirely of metal and have been extensively drop-tested from every angle
  • CNC-cut plates with a black powder coating and pro-style head.
  • Included 2.5lb micro-plates for smaller adjustments
  • Expandable Cradle
  • Knurled Handle
  • 85 lb = $899.99, 105 lb = $1,099.00, and 125 LB = $1,299.99

The ADONIS™ CABLE TOWER feels like an absolute winner, and while it’s certainly an investment, it’s priced competitively.

I scanned the product features, and below seem to be the most important:

  • Includes a 1:1 Lat Pulldown/Low Row and 2:1 trolley for other cable movements.
  • Plate Loaded with Base costs $2,679.99 while selectorized is $2,999.99.
    • Price includes Pegasus seat attachment
  • Both include a 450 lb weight capacity
  • 34 different cable height options
  • 92.1″ tall
  • 54.9″ deep
  • between 43″ & 45.5″ wide
  • The Adonis™ comes with a pair of knurled steel D-handles; a knurled, hard-chrome lat pulldown bar; a low row bar; one pair of 1.25lb micro-plates accented by a Grecian pattern (a nod to the mythology that inspired the equipment’s name); and a pair of 2.5lb micro-plates for small weight jumps

The PEGASUS™ ATTACHMENT is more than a seat for pulldowns. It can also be used as a chest-supported pad for movements like chest-supported rows, flies, curls, and more.

You also have the ability to remove the leg roller pads and use them on the rack for sit-ups, Nordics, and sissy squats.

It weighs around 47 pounds, but REP claims it is still easy to maneuver with a knurled handle and added grip underneath the seat.

The Ares 2.0 is an upgraded version of the 1.0, which fixes many of the suggestions made by reviewers and others who owned it.

Improvements include:

  • Weight stacked pushed back for more room within rack (helps with things like incline bench)
  • Offset trolleys for more range of motion
  • Cable routing is updated so you don’t disrupt as much space on the rack.
  • Moved the low-row pulley higher, so there is potential to use it on a bench.
  • Independent swivel pulleys added to lat pulldown that move with a natural range of motion.

Modular Storage is a heavy-duty/customizable storage system. It’s available in PR-4000 or PR-5000 Options. Some customization examples include:

  • Numerous Upright Colors
  • Several Shelf Widths
  • Standalone or Corner Units
  • Different height options
  • Kettlebell/ad hoc/plate/dumbbell

A few specifics include (the names describe what they are.

Plus, more options are available, including single shelves.

The Hyperion™ Series 1: Cable Crossover is REP’s version of the Monster Cave from Rogue.

We’ve seen people build these themselves, but now you can buy within a single package.

Within 13.5(W)’ x 7.8′ (H) x 4.8′ (D) you get:

  • Lat Pulldown/Low Row
  • Dumbbell/Kettlebell Storage
  • Half Rack Setup
  • Two Pull-Up Bars
  • Plate Storage on the sides
  • Dual Barbell Hanger
  • Numerous attachments
  • Cable Crossover

Rogue

Recently, Rogue dropped their response to the REP ARES with a number of rack-attached options that will add a functional trainer-like setup at the front and lat pulldown/low row to the back of your rack.

In general, they seem to be a very solid add-on for those in the Rogue ecosystem & who have been waiting on a product like this.

In addition, the prices are pretty similar to what REP offers with everything but the pulleys being “Made in the USA.”

These options can be added in several different variables, highlighted below:

  • Monster or Monster Lite – These are only available for 5/8” and 1” holes.
  • Standalone 6-Post Power Rack, Standalone 4-Post Half Rack, or Add-On to Rack – Rogue has pre-packeded options for both rack styles mentioned and then add-ons for those already with these types of racks.
  • One or Two Stacks (twins) – While both options utilize a 2:1 pulley ratio for the functional trainer and 1:1 for the lat pulldown, the number of stacks will definitely change up the experience. Single stacks may limit cable length, more difficult to even up weight distribution because of an uneven center point, and there is more potential for uneven force to be applied when performing bilateral movements. Two stacks includes a higher price, but a better experience.
  • Rogue Rhino Drop In – This will integrate into your rack and allow for lat pulldowns (no functional trainer).

Current options are below:

The new Rogue Mace has a number of unique features that stand out:

  • Available in 15 or 20 LB options.
  • Stainless Steel Shaft & Matte Black Finish on Coating – Rust and wear down shouldn’t be much of an issue.
  • Olympic barbell sleeve with bushing design for weight to rotate freely.
  • Compatible with Olympic Plates – they are designed to be used more specifically with Rogue Dumbbell Plates.

The Rogue Mantle is an evolution of the wall-strip designed most specifically to get items like your plates, spotter arms and leg rollers on the wall when not in use.

If secured to the wall at a low point, it can be used as an anchor point for landmines, battle ropes, etc.

While this may be a pretty basic release from Rogue, it’s nice to see them starting to pump out more products geared to the home gym population.

Fresh off Rogue’s support of the NFL combine, you can now pick up your favorite plates and bars from your favorite NFL teams.

NFL Bars are now available in the following variants: Ohio, Bella, and Ohio Power Bar.

In addition, you can choose from a number of bumper plates – Rogue Color Training 2.0 Bumpers, Rogue Black Training 2.0 Bumpers, Rogue Black Urethane w.0 Bumpers, Rogue Color Urethane 2.0 Bumpers, and Rogue HG 2.0 Bumpers.

The Rogue Hybrid Bar is Rogue’s 28.5 mm Power Bar. It was originally released in just Stainless Steel/Proprietary Matte Black for $395, but you can now get one for $100 less with a Black Zinc shaft and Bright Zinc sleeve. That is a very solid price for a MADE IN USA Power Bar.

Force USA

The Force USA C10 is their latest All-in-One Trainer and includes some extremely unique features.

  • Multi-Point Cable System where you can lock the cable in and out, which helps create proper placement for a movement like a cable fly.
  • Smith Machine can be stored at the top when not in use.
  • There are 6 cable connections—2 at the top for pulldowns, 2 at the bottom for rows, and 2 on each side (functional trainer).

In addition, there is the C10 Sliding Bench that can be purchased in addition to the C10.

This helps turn the C10 into a leg press/hack squat, leg extension/leg curl, and preacher curls, and it can also be used as a regular bench.

It is quite versatile and unique!

You can find many walkthroughs on the product page.

The G1 is Force USA’s most basic All-in-One.

This unit is a plate-loaded functional trainer that can also be a half-rack. It looks like a smaller version of the G3 but behaves differently.

The biggest difference with this option vs. some of the others in the G-Series Line is it does not include a Smith-Machine.

View our review.

Force USA has a nice option with their new Storage Racks. Based on space available, these come in Base and Pro versions, and both keep your rack attachments organized and easy to grab.

It is sort of like a beefed-up version of Wall Control on Wheels.

With secure rubber grips and multiple mounting points, you can customize your workout space and quickly find everything you need.

Bells of Steel

Sometimes, after you drop a lot of weight on the ground, the barbell can move off-center from the platform.

However, Bells of Steel recently released a Deadlift Jack with Rollers to solve this problem.

The Dreadmill is a 3 in 1 cardio machine for farmer walk, sled push, and manual incline treadmill.

If you want to perform these movements, and do not have a large stip of space to do them, this could be a good option.

Bells of Steel has been known for having one of the best value air bikes out there, but they recently added the Blitz Max Commercial Air Bike, which includes a more robust design compared to the original Blitz Bike released a few years ago.

This belt-driven bike also includes magnetic resistance, an adjustable wind damper, 330 lb capacity, Bluetooth compatibility, turf tires, and will be more than you need, which is what many actually want.

That said, the most notable feature is probably the magnetic resistance, which includes 8 different levels of resistance. Assault bikes or the Rogue Echo Bike does not include this feature. That said, it does come with an additional price.

These Utility Hooks will lock into the tubing of your rack to help store bands, accessories, chains, etc.

According to Bells, these “fit all round holes on tubing up to 11-gauge (2.9mm) thick and is cross-compatible with other brands as long as the gauges aren’t lower than 11.”

Fringe Sport

The Dane appears to be one of the best value and space-efficient packages offered today.

The Dane is a space-saving half-rack functional trainer that combines a weight rack with a pulley system. It has dual 160lb weight stacks with a 1:1 pulley ratio (I don’t think this is ideal for most – would rather have 2:1), meaning the weight feels precisely as advertised.

Despite its functionality, The Dane boasts a compact footprint of only 60 inches deep. Adding value, it comes with several attachments, including spotter arms, J-cups, d-handles, and a landmine attachment, all included in the base price. The squat rack frame is covered by a lifetime warranty, while the pulley system has a 5-year warranty.

It has a pretty nifty peg storage option to store attachments as well.

Fringe has done a great job of assembling this package for those seeking a similar setup at an affordable price without the hassle of putting together a rack themselves.

For those looking to individually put together this rack this won’t be their choice, but should be a nice budget option.

The “La Gordita” EZ Curl Axle Bar looks like a fun toy. Some key features include:

  • 2″ Shaft Diameter (nearly 2x normal barbell)
  • Weighs 19 lbs and measures 55″ in total length.
  • Features a bent shaft to reduce joint strain when performing curls.

Get RXd

Standalone columns have become very popular recently. They pack quite a big punch within a smaller footprint.

The RX3 FreeStanding Single Column Trainer 3000 is another Single Column Functional Trainer but made with 3″x3″ uprights, 11-gauge steel, and 1″ holes for additional attachments and potential to connect with other posts.

In addition, the pulley ratio can be adjusted from 2:1 to 1:1.

In addition to the option above, Get RXd also launched the Wall-Mount Single Colum Trainer 3000, which has similar features but is to be mounted to the wall for additional space savings.

The Slim Profile Wall Mounted Functional Trainer Single Column 2000 is a unique take on a stack-weight wall-mounted single column.

The most noticeable feature is that it only takes up about 4” of space off the wall & the trolley can be set up on either side of the weight stack.

Some additional features include:

  • 1:1 pulley ratio with dual handle & 2:1 with single handle
  • The highest trolley point is 68.5”, and the lowest is 9.5” – the overall height is not listed on the product page.
  • Aluminum Pulleys with Aircraft Grade Nylon Cables are included.

Torque

The Relentless Ripper is a new “Ski Trainer” option that is unlike any other on the market.

This space-saving unit can be mounted to walls and racks and doesn’t include the “body” of something like the Concept 2 SkiErg.

The performance monitor tracks time, strokes per minute, watts, calories, distance, and more.

Titan

The TwistLock™ Pro Barbell Collars lock on tight to your Olympic barbell, keeping your plates secure during lifts. The patented design lets you switch weights in seconds, which is ideal for making sure your workouts are efficient. Made from lightweight but tough aluminum, they’re easy to grip, thanks to the volcano knurling. Plus, built-in magnets let you stick them to a rack when you’re done, keeping your space tidy.

Fun fact – these have quickly become my go-to collars.

New from Titan is this “Rack Mounted Infinity Rope Pulley System.” This is priced much cheaper than other infinity rope options on the market and will be easy to install on your rack.

I personally have owned the Endless Rope from Torque for a while, use it about once a week (mainly for warm-up or finisher), and like it, but it is at a price that would be tough to swallow.

While this new option from Titan doesn’t have any resistance settings like the one from Torque, it seems like a solid option for the price.

PRx

The Halo Arms do appear to be the most impressive jammer arms on the market (not without controversy).

  • Arms can be locked vertically (17 different holes) or horizontally for directional movement, or unlocked for multidirectional movement.
  • Made in the USA
  • Work with any 3×3 (or 75mm x 75mm) upright with 5/8″ or 1″ offset hole spacing.
  • The closest competitor to these is the Crandall Fitness Free Motion Swing Arms, which do not include as many locking holes or the Kaizen/Vendetta combination.

Exponent Edge

The The Edge Infinity Bench is a very unique bench. It includes a Flat, Incline, and Half Bench All in one.

The half-bench is the most unique feature. This means that you can take the top half off, which allows for:

  • Overhead work like seated military press, overhead tricep extension, etc
  • Chest/Back supported work similar to
  • More range of motion with certain cable movements.

The Calf Cup Set can be used as a standard J-Cup but also to help train calves.

The standard J-Cup includes an enclosed chamber that can be taken on and off. When enclosed, it allows the barbell to stay within the chamber so that it does not fall out.

Some additional details include:

  • Max Load of 1,000 lbs
  • Available for 5/8” and 1” racks
  • 9” inside-cup height for a full range of motion

This pairs nicely with the Flex Wedge – Calf Raise Block, which you stand on for calf raises.

This includes five angled positions & can be adjusted in 10-degree increments.

In addition, this won’t take up much space in your gym and can easily be stored out of the way.

Other movements can be performed are lunges, elevated squats, split squats, and other deficit exercises.

You also have the ability to grab both of these at a discounted package with the Calf Blast Bundle. The promo code GGE will save you more as well!

Prime Fitness

The Shorty Bench from Prime was teased to the community for a while. It is a “hypertrophy-1st” bench that includes a preacher curl add-on and some potential for more add-ons in the future.

The promo code MWPIG5 will save you some $$$.

Some other features include:

  • Back pad adjustability from 0 to 85 degrees & five-seat pad angle adjustment
  • 8 Color Options
  • 3-way Adjustability (Decline, Flat, Incline)
  • Adjustable Elbow Pads upgrade for superior arm curl exercise execution
  • Removable Ankle pad upgrade for decline exercises
  • Weight capacity in a flat position is 1,000 lbs
  • Weight capacity in an incline position is 600 lbs
  • The back pad width is approximately 10’’
  • Removable headrest extension included.

Bare Steel Equipment

This was a January product release, but Knurled News missed it!

This deadlift bar from Bare Steel Equipment was created to optimize the lift and includes:

  • 27mm diameter
  • Aggressive Knurl
  • Black Hard Chromium Shaft Coating
  • Hard Chrome Sleeve Coating

Darko Lifting

First came the Longy & Shorty Bar from Darko Lifting, which helps give multiple width options for lat pulldowns, rows, etc with handles added.

Then, came the D-Grips, so that you can use these versatile tools without handles for movements like lat pulldowns and rows.

Thus, making the Longy & Shorty Bars even more versatile.

AbMat

I think the Bench Wedge is one of the top products AbMat has released in a while!

You can strap the Bench Wedge to any adjustable bench to help turn it into a “utility seat,” which doesn’t include the length of an adjustable bench.

Therefore, it allows a smoother experience for movements such as shoulder presses and tricep extensions. It can also be used for some chest-supported exercises.

This will take up very little space and is easy to store.

You can also use code GGE10 to save!

Many benches can become slippy, especially during those sweaty workout sessions.

The Bench Grip is a cover that secures to benches using elastic and velcro straps, fitting most bench pads on the market.

Made with top-tier Grabber vinyl on both sides for enhanced grip on the bench and user’s shoulders, the lightweight and portable design makes it easy to carry for training sessions in different locations.

STEPR

The STEPR CLASSIC is a new option that does not include the 27″ HD Touchscreen and options that go along with it, like streaming options & classes.

Without the fancy screen, it costs $1,000 less.

Some key features include:

  • Free Step
  • Build Your Own Targets
  • Pre-Programmed sessions
  • App coming soon

The STEPR Pro is the latest model of the STEPR family. All include a version with our without a connected 27” HD Touchscreen as well.

This is the most robust option. Below are some other items that set it apart.

  • 7″ Floating step height & enhanced surface area to accommodate any foot size
  • Up to 190 steps per minute for advanced HIIT training
  • Overbuilt commercial-grade frame and hardware
  • Built-in wireless charger

Freak Athlete

One of the most versatile items you can add to your home gym just got even more versatile.

Freak Athlete has recently added a Leg Developer Add-On to the Nordic Hyper.

It can be purchased as an add-on whether you already own one or not and adds the ability to do leg extensions and hamstring curls.

The Tib Bar Guy

The Tib Bar Guy released the THE SLEDTRED – 6 in 1 Treadmill. It’s an all-in-one machine that does quite a bit! It’s a combination that I don’t think anyone would have seen coming!

  • Push/Pull Sled – Train endless sled pushing and pulling with 21 levels of powerful magnetic resistance.
  • Power Tower – Use the multi-grip chin-up bar, dip bars, and push-up handles to target the chest, triceps, biceps, back, shoulders, and abs.
  • Nordic Bench – Perform flat, decline, and fully assisted Nordic curls to bulletproof your knees and hamstrings.
  • Hip Thrust Machine – Train Barbell Hip Thrusts, Bulgarian Split Squats, and more to take your posterior chain training to the next level.
  • Sit-Up Bench – Strengthen and stabilize your core abdominal muscles with various exercises, from decline sit-ups to Russian Twists.
  • Multi-Step Attachment – Reverse step-ups, KOT split squats, and standing calf raises.
