Introduction
With so many specialty barbell options, what are Jake and Adam choosing if they had to build it out from scratch?

Jake’s Specialty Barbell Choices
I do see value in owning every single barbell below & would choose buying most of these specialty barbells over specialty machines because space saving is at the top of my mind.
In addition, I use specialty barbells just about every day in my home gym & my favorite specialty barbells are those from Kabuki.
Nevertheless, here is my list:
- Transformer Bar: The most versatile squat bar on the market & my favorite specialty bar I’ve ever used.
- Kadillac Bar: Very comfortable on the wrists and worth the extra money vs. cheaper options on the market.
- REP Open Trap Bar: This is the most versatile trap bar, it’s balanced, and includes handles that can be rotated out.
- Kabuki PR Deadlift Bar: The rumor is that you can deadlift the most with this bar & I love deadlifting with deadlift bars.
- Rogue Rackable Curl Bar: This gets the nod over others because of the sharper knurling.
- Primal Armor Appalachian Bar: I enjoy a Duffalo Bar, but I would choose this one because it’s not quite as long and should be easier to use within a home gym setting.
Adam’s Specialty Barbell Choices
& below are Adam’s choices. Both of us had relatively the same mindset.
- 29mm Texas Power Bar: This would be used as a daily driver.
- Marrs Bar: Much easier to squat with than a straight bar with limited mobility.
- Giant Open Trap Bar: This is likely the best value open trap bar for anyone who isn’t looking for something quite as versatile as the REP option.
- Rogue Rackable Curl Bar: This is a safe choice because he knows Rogue makes excellent barbells.
- Primal Armor Appalachian Bar: It would be fun to own and a practical addition to other bars on the market.
