Products Released for the Home Gym in August 2023

*Below is a recap for the entire month. To keep up with the latest product releases, you can subscribe to the Knurled News Newsletter. This will ensure you receive timely updates on new products as they become available.

Introduction

We are nearly 3/4 through the year, and companies are still pumping out new products for our home gyms. Below this initial list, you’ll find brief descriptions of all.

Here are my favorite 5!

And here is everything else released from the month.

REP Alpine Weightlifting Bars are Available

15 KG & 20 KG Weightlifting Bars are REP’s new top tier Olympic weightlifting barbell.

Both are in compliance with the IWF’s specs for male and female competitors.

The 15 KG & 20 KG bars also include a hybrid needle-bearing sleeve construction that should provide a smooth and consistent rotation for Olympic lifts.

Edge Rackable Curl Bar from Exponent Edge

This rackable option was released last month, so we are a bit late on this one, but, the point of this unique looking bar is to have a grip that is at shoulder width for a more optimized grip and bending at shoulder width.

New Stubby AXLE Barbell that Fringe calls “El Gordito”

This new Stubby Axle Bar is now rackable and also includes these features:

  • 2″ shaft diameter to support grip and forearm strength.
  • 1000-pound weight capacity
  • It’s rackable, which many axle bars are not.
  • Grippy powder coat

It’s currently just $99 and would be an excellent way for many to add some variety to their home gym setup.

Rack your Short Bars with the JAY-M from Oak Club

The Jay-M was created to provide the convenience and security of traditional J-cups on a single post. It is designed for loading and holding short barbells, EZ curl bars, or positioning your bar precisely for movements such as low rows and curls.

NEW: Saxon Grips from AbMat

After listening to “An Armlifting Overview with the President of Armlifting USA” Podcast, Eric Eccles (@eccles_basement_gym) decided to try out the sport.

Using Fat Gripz is a common “hack” to try and mimic the fat bars, but Eric thought of something better option to simulate a different type of bar.

He reached out to AbMat and Wala! Introducing the… Saxon Grips!

These grips help mimic a Saxon Bar, a common “pinch grip bar” that can be attached to any standard barbell or loadable dumbbell.

Possible lifts include pinching lifting for deadlifts, suitcase deadlifts, farmers’ carries, bicep curls, clean and press, and more. Anyone who wants to improve their grip can benefit.

A pair costs $65, and for reference, a Sorinex Saxon Bar costs $204 before shipping. Use code GGE10 to save from AbMat!

NEW: MAGPEG BAND PEG from Fringe Sport

Fringe has added the first “magnetized” band peg option to their “magnetized” lineup. It’s over 9 inches and fits multiple squat rack options.

They are backed by a lifetime warranty with a stainless steel pin and an anodized aluminum head.

You should be able to use them as you would a standard magpin as well & the price is not bad at all.

New: Blue Falcon Training Sled

This latest sled model from Fringe Sport is both cost-effective and convenient, boasting easy storage, disassembly, and transportation. Additionally, it comes equipped with replaceable steel skids that can be swapped out as needed and is suitable for use in both pushing and pulling exercises.

Build Limitless® Ripcord

This new pulley option from PRx is very similar to the Rogue Plate Loaded Slinger, but also includes a low-row option. Thus, you could say it’s somewhat similar to the UPS, but you need to mount it (like the slinger).

Some other details include:

  • 95” and 81” rack compatibility
  • You can mount in-line or across existing cross members
  • The weight platform is included
  • An add on footplate available
  • Made in USA

This was created for the Built Limitless Line from PRx, which promises to include some other impressive add-ons to their accessory lineup.

The Infinity Arm from Exponent Edge

This option includes six angles to adjust on your upright, and the ability to move the pad 360 degrees; it uses UHMD to protect the rack and can be stored up against the rack when not in use.

The Infinity Arm appears to be the most versatile pad like this on the market, beating out some of the recent releases.

Bells of Steel Air Rower 2.0

The Bells of Steel Air Rower 2.0 seems to be nearly identical to the Concept 2 option, with a worse monitor but at a lower price.

Stealth Air Bike

The Stealth Air Bike from Torque was built for commercial and/or “rigorous” home gym use. The primary difference does appear that it’s built with tougher than most.

For reference, it weighs 132 lbs. vs the Rogue Echo Bike at 123 lbs.

It also includes a belt drive (like the Echo Bike), multi-grip handles, removable fan cover, and an air diffuser.

The price is quite high, though, for most home gym owners.

Clean Grip Wide Bench Pads Available from REP

REP has added their CleanGrip Bench Pad to their newest releases and is now adding it as a wide pad option for the AB-3000, AB-4100, and FB-5000.

KG Bumper Plates from REP

To help out non-US and competitive lifters who use KG’s, REP now has some new bumper plate options:

SSB from Giant

Even though it weighs in at 69 lbs, this seems to be a pretty standard SSB release these days (relatively similar to Titan & REP’s), but it does come at a pretty good price point.

In addition, the code GGE10 will save you 10%!

Helix Adjustable Dumbbells from Clench Fitness

Check out these new adjustable dumbbells from Clench Fitness.

What really sets these apart from the pack:

  • Solid steel thin plate design, with no plastic components between plates for improved durability.
  • They include a compact design that keeps the size down, and flat plates make it easy to rest vertically.
  • 8.8lb minimum weight with 3.3lb increments (balanced increments keep weight even on both sides).
  • Heavy-duty cradles with reinforced nylon components have higher durability and better fit/ finish than others on the market.

New: Bells of Steel Ski Trainer

Bells of Steel has added another Concept2 lookalike with this ski trainer.
