(0:50) Blob Intro: This is a term that many in the fitness industry are aware of. Nevertheless, a blob is one head of a vintage York Roundhead Dumbbell that has been cut off from the handle. This is intended for grip training. In this section, Rob gives a quick little history lesson and shows a couple of newbies what it is.
(4:01) Sorinex: Today, Sorinex is best known for outfitting commercial facilities with high-quality Made in America products was founded by Richard Sorin. Well, Richard Sorin just so happened to invent the Blob. Within this portion of the show, Rob reveals some history about the company along with the invention of the Blob.
(11:14) Controversy around Blobs The only way to create a Blob is to cut up a pretty prestigious piece of iron. Therefore some are against the creation of blobs. The episode discussed why somebody doesn’t just create something like this. A clear answer was not discovered.
(16:55) Cost of Blob It sells for about the same price as a fully functional vintage York Dumbbell.
