Show Notes
(0:09) When and why did you start a home gym? He started back in 2018 and having a kid was the primary reason. He also tells a story about a rat…
(3:45) What does the space look like now? A ton of work has gone into his space. It started as an uninsulated space but now is closing in on a dream home gym.
(5:55) Can you tell us why you decided to start a YouTube page? And, what was the original idea behind it? Gluck had a number of different ideas that he considered doing but ultimately chose to give home gym equipment a shot once COVID hit.
(7:31) What were the first few videos like? Did you get some quick traction, or did it take some time? “They were absolute shit.” Gluck will probably not be too pleased with us adding this link, but below is his first video!
(8:24) Did you get some quick traction, or did it take some time? While the channel has grown a ton lately there wasn’t “immediate traction.”
(10:35) We know your full-time gig is that you are a teacher. How is your time split right now with teaching, training, being a family man, and building your brand? Right now, Gluck is extremely focused and outside of family time, there isn’t much else he is focused on now.
(12:28) What has been your most popular video so far? A few of Gluck’s videos have definitely taken off, with the one below leading the way.
(13:38) Any videos you thought would do better than they did? While there were a few that have “popped,” there are quite a bit that have not done as well as he originally thought. Home Gym Lighting and Kid’s Home Gym were a few examples.
(14:32) What’s the creative process behind your intros? Wynie is the brains behind the imaginative and clever intros.
(16:52) There are some popular reviewers that seem to just be doing “infomercial” type reviews. Can you explain how yours are different from many others on the market? He doesn’t watch a ton of YouTube, but tries to create something that he would be interested. While doing that Gluck attempts to be funny, informative, and concise.
(19:32) What’s your favorite home gym purchase of all time? “Those would be things you get deals on.” The Gluck’s were able to find some decent products on the used marketplace over the years, including his first Rogue rack, dumbbell storage, and functional trainer.
(20:36) Least favorite? The first one that came to mind was a “highly rated” barbell on Amazon. He also mentions products from Titan and Rogue
(22:30) Are there any home gym projects right now that you are extremely excited about? Finishing the garage seems to be the project that Gluck wants to do, but it’s tough to find the time to find.
