Titan Roller J-Cups

Roller J-Hooks are one of those items that you don’t know you need until you use them. These allow you to easily center your bar before each lift, whereas with traditional j-hooks, you’ll need to lift off and shift to the middle. This becomes more and more difficult with weight added.

These Titan Series Roller J-Hooks (3×3 and 1-inch hardware):

  • Spin freely with weight on the bar. They were tested up to 695 pounds, and they kept on rolling.
  • The outer lip is a bit longer than you’d like. This simply needs to be considered when getting your height set up.
  • With free shipping included, they are priced cheaper than all others on the market. They are 3x cheaper than the Ghost J-Cup 2.0, which has the best reputation of any rolling j-cup on the market.
  • Overall, they are built solidly and should last a long time.
  • The Titan Series Roller J-Hooks fits this REP rack well (5000 Series). X-3 Series Roller J-Hooks (11/16 inch holes) are reported to also work on PR-4000 from REP.

Micro Gainz Olympic Weight Plates (2.5-10 lbs.)

Change plates have been difficult to grab these days. Most are coming from outside of the country and being snatched up quickly after going back in stock. Micro Gainz, who started out selling microplates (less than 1 pound), now offers:

Some additional notes include

  • All Micro Gainz Plates are Made in America from American Steel
  • These are priced in between Rogue Iron Plates and Change Plates (when factoring in shipping). Overall, they are on the pricey side, but you support a small company making these in the USA.
  • All include a smooth powder-coated finish (Matte Black), and they are not sharp.
  • All include a weight tolerance of +/- .05lbs
  • These plates are extremely thin. For example, the 10 lb plates are 1/2.”

A Reason to Keep that Leaf Blower Out All Year

The leaf blower may be the most popular home gym hack there is. With the garage doors open, it’s the easiest way to blow out dirt, dust, dog hair, chalk, leaves, or whatever else may get into the garage. You’ll also easily reach all corners and spots that are tough to reach with a broom, and it’s much easier than getting a vacuum out each time.

One tip would be to make sure that you are getting a cordless option. Much of the convenience is taken away if you need to find an extension cord each time. This option from RYOBI is easy to operate, lightweight, not too expensive, has enough power to get the job done, and you can even use it to blow leaves (who would have thought).
