Keep One. Use One Once, and Sell One
This was asked of the 3 items below in an Instagram Post.
The results are in and it’s about as close as it gets. With that being said:
- The GHD was most likely to be kept, the Lat Pulldown sold, and Scout Hyper used once.
- The Lat Pulldown was the most loved/hated option, with only 24% not choosing to keep or sell.
- The Scout Hyper seemed to be the one most were indifferent about.
- The GHD was the winner, but only by a slim margin.
Have you heard of these companies?
Below is a look at the last two times this survey has been done. Most of these companies have the ability to outfit your entire gym with a few others thrown in. As always, this survey was accomplished through the Instagram Story feature.
- There were 39% fewer votes in March than in December (about 7,800 per company). This most likely had some impact on the numbers. All scores ended up being higher than what occurred 4 months before.
- Those that moved up at least 2 positions were Crane Fitness (+4), Fray Fitness (+3), Force USA (+2), and BATL Performance (+2). X Training Equipment dropped the most (-3).
- Rogue, Titan, and Rep remain in the top three, but Fray has moved into fourth. The Rep vs. Titan Gap is getting closer.

Hot or Not Results
Some of you were BEGGING to see the last few weeks of the hot or not results. Actually… not one person showed any concern. Nevertheless, here they are. Plus, here’s the entire 2021 list.

- Powerblock Dumbbells came in about 6% points lower than NUOBELL‘s earlier this year.

Next up, we have results from March 31 where the Rogue Change Plates took the top honor.
Some additional notes:
- As a test, the Rogue Monster Mass Storage was done for the second time this year to see if the results would change. The difference was only 2% points and they rank side by side in the full year’s rankings.
- Savage Bumper Plates were .03% lower than Rogue Fleck Plates voted on earlier in the year. It’s a toss-up.
- Bells of Steel offers two types of Iron Plates right now. The Machined Iron Plates demolished the Steel Mighty Grip Plates.
- The FPRSM1 Power Rack Smith Machine from Fray scored about where you would think as an All-in-One Trainer.
- A Better Bell now has the lowest score of the year.

Would you rather have a lat pulldown on a rack or separate?
This was asked on a recent IG post, and the comments were dominated by those that wanted it separate. In fact, 70.2% said they’d rather have it as a separate option than it saving space on a rack. Here are some additional notes about the comments:
- Those that voted for the “attached option” mentioned space saved and that it would be sturdier. Nevertheless, it seemed like if space weren’t a concern, the separate option would be chosen by almost all.
- Separate is the better option for those who want to superset and train with multiple people simultaneously.
- Several mentioned that they did not want their rack to feel “tight,” which is a valid concern.
- The models for this included the Plate Loaded Lat Tower V2 from Titan and REP PR-5000 V2/ LAT/LOW ROW ATTACHMENT. Both of these would be solid options for most home gyms.
That’s it. Thanks all greatly for the feedback! If you have any suggestions, matchups you’d like to see, survey questions, etc., please reach out!
