Torque Releases Endless Rope

The new Endless Rope from Torque is a dynamic attachment added to your rack/storage unit or wall. Within a small footprint that doesn’t take up any floor space, you have the ability to do many movements, and they can be KILLER. The harder you pull, the harder you work. The Endless Rope is a great warmup, finisher, superset option, and in general, a great conditioning workout.

This unit was built exceptionally well and used the same sort of technology as the popular M1 Tank, another sweet piece of equipment offered by Torque. With 4 different resistance levels, it’s straightforward to use, and the overall construction is sturdy. It sits rock solid upon the power rack shown below, and it’s worth noting there is a 10-year warranty on the frame, 1 year on parts, and 90 days on miscellaneous items.

It’s one of the more impressive attachments you’ll see available. However, the price is going to be a limiting factor for many. At $1,095, it’s one of those options many won’t consider if they are purchasing it for their home gym. However, if you can swallow the price or use it for your gym/personal training business, it’s a remarkable attachment.

Budget Loadable Dumbbells

The 15-In Loadable Dumbbells from Titan are one of those items that will absolutely get the job done for someone looking for a budget dumbbell option. For a pair of these 15″ dumbbell handles, you’re looking at $89.99 with no shipping cost, which is much less expensive than all other options out there. The Rogue DB-10’s are nearly 3x more expensive before shipping.

Highlights include:

  • With a slim collar, the loadable sleeve length is about 3.5 inches. You can expect to fit 2-3 change plates. The bar weighs 8 pounds, so the most weight you’ll be able to add is probably about 68 lbs.
  • The overall length is 15 inches, and they are pretty functional compared to some of the other fixed options that may be wider.
  • The knurl is easy to grip, and it’s coated with chrome, so it should avoid corrosion with minor maintenance over time.
  • The sleeves rotate (like a barbell) as opposed to your traditional fixed dumbbell.
  • The overall quality is not a 10/10, but for the price, it’s a high value.

Rubber Grip Dumbbells for Those Cold Mornings

If you find yourself this winter not using dumbbells because they sting to hold, it may be worth snagging a few pairs of rubber grip dumbbells. While not as popular as traditional hex dumbbells (steel handles), these are a reliable option. They are easy to grip and are more compact in size. The rubber shows scuffs and dirt a bit more than the others but is still easy to wipe off. The example here is from Rep, where a lifetime warranty for home gym use is included!

The dumbbells pictured here are not currently in stock, but are currently offered from a few others.

Hang Your Rings?

Rings offer you many accessory options for any muscle group: ring dips, push-ups, rows, rear-delt flies, and the list goes on and on. They are a simple option that gives you endless possibilities in a small space. Rings can be attached to a rack or pull-up bar. However, they may slide and take away some of the “feel” you’re looking for, or you may only have limited space. It may be more convenient to put your ring attachments suspended with plenty of open space around them.

To do this, you should be able to find a couple of thick lag eye bolts at your local hardware store. The ones used here are 1/2″ thick and about 3-4″ long. They are suspended into basement floorboards about 6 inches apart. You could easily do this in your garage by finding your ceiling joists with a stud finder. If you wanted to give yourself multiple options from your ceiling in points where you didn’t have a ceiling joist, think about using a 2×4 mounted directly to your ceiling joists and lag-eye bolts attached to the 2×4.

You also have the ability to use something like this Rogue Ring Hanger 2.0, which mounts to the ceiling. At $65 + Shipping, it’s a little pricier than a couple of lag eye bolts, and hardware is not included, so you would need to go to the hardware store anyways. Nevertheless, it’s extremely secure if installed correctly and a little more versatile, with the ability to adjust the rings’ position by 2″ increments.

**As always, when using your own hardware to secure equipment to walls or ceilings, consider how you will be using the equipment. If you plan on doing pull-ups or ring muscle-ups, choose thick hardware and secure straight into studs with plenty of depth. If you plan on strapping your ceiling with a 2×4 and mounting to the strapping, be sure your 2×4 is bolted straight into studs at multiple points. Always test out the strength of your equipment before you start hanging from your ceiling.

What Not to Buy – 100 LB Plates are Not for the Average Human

These 100 LB Deep Dish Plates from Rogue look amazing. However, they pretty much sit there. They are a huge pain to move, and if you drop them, you better move that foot quick🤬!! It’s much easier to use a couple of 45’s and some change if you need to load up.

So here’s a warning. Do not get these unless you are an absolute beast or want something like this to look at. With that being said, we’ll highly recommend the other sized Deep Dish Plates, even those 35’s 🙂

Thanks for reading. Hopefully, these are getting better each week. Please reach out if you have any questions about the products featured above.
