The Rex Series Half Rack from Raptor Fitness
This is an extremely stout half rack that will be able to handle some of the strongest people in the world. This rack utilizes 3″x3″ 11 gauge steel throughout and is absolutely rock solid. It’s as stable as a power rack but will not take up quite as much space. In addition, you don’t have to deal with moving a bar in and out of the power rack, which can be a hassle. Lastly, it’s priced extremely reasonably.
I Sell Fitness Power Bar
There are about 150 of these Power Bars still in stock ( as of 9/4) and they will ship soon after purchase.
This is without question one of the best bang for your buck power bars on the market. A bare steel bar starts out at $187.57 (There are also black oxide options). The aggressive knurl will blast your hand and is extremely easy to grip for those heavier lifts, which is what many prefer. The tensile strength is between 205 and 210, 29 mm, and extremely stiff.
I Sell Fitness is selling some of the best budget items available for home gym owners and this bar is no exception. This bar will not disappoint anyone who wants a new bar to squat, bench, deadlift, and beat up.
Sunday Survey Results
On 8/23, each question asked about your level of interest in 11 different products. The full list is in the chart below, but the highlights include:
- The Rower, Mass Storage Solution, and Rogue Echo Bike were the items survey respondents were most interested in.
- The Peloton came in last by a large amount.
- The Rogue Echo Bike outperformed the Assault Bike.
- A budget pulley system greatly outperformed the functional trainer
The next week of surveys simply asked you to choose between two options for each different question. Highlights include:
- The Echo Bike narrowly beat out the Concept 2 Rower
- The Rep AB 5200 (55%) beat out the Rep Zero Gap (45%)
- Just about a 50/50 split when voting between a flat bench and incline bench
- Rep beat out Titan Fitness in a head to head matchup by a large amount. This probably would not have been the case a year ago.
- Rogue dominated in head to head matchups over Sorinex and Rep.
- More would rather just get some steel storage rather than creating their own.
- 57% would rather wait for items to come back in stock before purchasing rather than (43%) for pre-ordering.
Instagram Conversations from the last few weeks include:
- What’s your favorite piece of equipment not including a barbell, rack, dumbbell, or kettlebell?
- Who has tips to keep your garage warm during the cold months?
- What has been the biggest mistake you have made when building out a home gym?
Straydog Strength Rack Review from Curt White
Here is a quick review from @white.curt of his ATR Rack from Straydog Strength
The design, welds, and frame of the rack are exceptional. The back posts are 2×3 and front posts are 3×3 with 2-inch spacing. The j cups and spotter arms are lined with UHMW and use a pin pop system to move and latch into place. Overall the design is great but there are some quality control issues with the bends on the spotter arms. One fits tightly to the rack while the other is loose and slopes down slightly from the rack. It doesn’t affect the performance but is disappointing. –The design of the lat pulldown/row is outstanding. This is the best part of the rack! The pulleys are extremely smooth and have a very commercial feel. The low row footpeg is a poor design because it is not secured to the rack and moves too freely. This has been recently updated. –The belts squat works very well. The weight horn on the top allows for a full range of motion but is cumbersome because it will not lock into place. This has been addressed with version 2.0. Overall I am happy with the rack. They are very innovative with their design and have some very unique features that many do not offer. @straydog_strength just needs to fix some QC issues and they should be considered with Rogue and Sorinex.
Thank you, Curt for taking the time to do this. If anyone else wants to do a detailed review of something they own, just give a shout!

Slam Balls are Awesome for Home Gym Owners
Slam them, carry them, toss them, hold them, etc. Slam balls are extremely versatile and an addition to many home gyms. You can’t really do this at other corporate gyms, at least without looking like an insane person.
These one’s pictured below from Rep Fitness are durable, easy to grip, and overall high quality. It’s nice to have several different size options for even more workout options.

The Westside Scout Hyper was recently released on Friday and sold out in minutes on Rogue’s website! This is a fordable, reverse-hyper developed by Louie Simmons and Westside Barbell. It’s lighter than the standard reverse hyper and can be folded for easy storage. This seems like an optimal option for those wanting a reverse hyper option but short on space.
