5 Tips to Keep Your Barbells Safe – From Bar Shield
#1 – Keep ‘em Dry
No matter where you live in the world, keep your bars as dry as possible. Humidity & Moisture will only bring destruction to your fleet.
#2 – Wipe Down
See number one. Water, sweat, moisture, cleaner, etc. Grab a clean cloth for a quick wipe down.
#3 – Proper Storage
Off the ground! Gun rack, 9-bar holder, original packing tube, or in a climate-controlled setting. Keeping bars off the ground will reduce the accumulation of dust, grime and moisture.
#4 – Use Less Chalk
Relax a bit on the chalk. Instead of painting your hands for every set, maybe visit the chalk bowl every other set or simply use less! Chalk holds moisture with ease, inevitably leading to a rusted-out bar.
#5 – Have a Maintenance Plan
Considering that bars rank among the highest priced items in the gym, how about we show them some love? Designate a day and time each week, month or quarter and stick to it.
What’s this mean?
Your bars will last longer. Your bars will continue to function the way they were intended. And, you’ll save your hard-earned money!
A simple commitment to keeping them dry, wiping them down, storing them properly and using less chalk goes a long way! Best part is they don’t cost you a dime!
Then, if you do have a few bucks in the budget to take your maintenance game to the next level, grab yourself a Bar Shield bar maintenance kit. Keep your bar’s sleeves spinning like new and kiss the rust good-bye! #ProtectYourInvestment
