Analysis

Rogue vs. The Field? A dominant performance here. 67% responded with Rogue.

How much does free gifts (like a set of resistance bands if you purchase a squat rack) help convince you to make a large purchase? Only 20% say that they do not help at all. The highest proportion of voters say “very little,” but overall it seems like it’s a tactic that helps seal the deal for a larger purchase.

What would be the best free gift if you were ordering a squat rack ($100 worth of flooring, landmine, bluetooth speaker, or resistance bands? Flooring wins this one, but the landmine option was not too far behind. The bluetooth speaker only received 10% of the votes.

Do you own a specialty barbell? 47% own at least 1 and another 40% want to own one. Only 13% of respondents said they do not see a need.

Between the safety squat bar, swiss bar, trap bar and curl bar, what’s your favorite specialty barbell? The Safety Squat Bar narrowly beats out the trap bar. This is closer than previous polls, probably because of the recent rise of open trap bars.

Do you run a business out of your home gym? 10% say yes. That’s actually pretty significant. This is a trend to keep an eye on. It’s also part of the reason that some home gyms are decked out as much as they are. Personal trainers need the best to train their clients.

How much do you typically spend a year adding to your gym? Outside of spending $0, this ratio is pretty balanced. The most popular answer is between $200 and $500 a year. Most people are building out their home gym one step at a time.

Do there seem to be a lot of home gym owners in your area? Only 13% say yes.

How much time a day do you save by owning a home gym? The response to this question may be the biggest reason the number of home gym owners will continue to grow. 41% say that they save at least 45 minutes a day! Another 43% save 15-45 minutes. Multiply that by the number of workouts you do a month and you’ll be shocked at the overall time saved. That’s time to be with your family, start a business, do another hobby, etc. #excusesremoved

What brand is your primary pair of workout shoes? Nike wins this one.
