- Many don’t feel comfortable buying a new product as it’s first released without feedback from others
How many consumer reviews would you likely need to read before purchasing a large home gym item and a small home gym item? For large items, the most popular answer was 6-15. Only 35% say that 1-5 reviews would be good enough. With smaller items, the percentages shift down a little bit. About half say that they’d only read 1-5 reviews before purchasing a small home gym item.
How many “expert reviews” would you likely need to read before purchasing a large home gym item and a small home gym item? For large home gym items, 69% of respondents would like to read 2-3 expert reviews, whereas just 39% need more than 2 for smaller items. Only 15% say they would not read an expert review for a large home gym item.
What’s usually more convincing? 1 Expert Review or 5 Consumer Reviews? 68% say they’d rather have 5 consumer reviews.
Would you be comfortable making a purchase on the first day a product is released without any reviews? Even from a company you trust? 61% says no.
