Last week’s summary revolved around a type of bench that you can do more than just sit on. Here’s what stood out:
- Most respondents already own a bench for their home gym, but many want to upgrade
- The bench is considered a high priority for most in their gym and only 9% say that they bench zero times a week
- Adjustable benches, while usually more of an investment, are more popular than flat ones
- Nearly half would pay more money to have wheels
- Not very many people want to spend more than $300 on a new bench
Full Breakdown below:
Do you own a bench for your gym? Only 17% do not own a bench. 54% own an adjustable bench.
True or False Statement – I Greatly want to purchase a new bench: 51% say yes! It’s safe to say that many want to upgrade or buy their first with so many new options on the market.
How high of a priority is a good bench? 65% would say either “high” or “very high.” Less than 9% say that is is a low priority.
How often do you bench (any type)? Nearly half are benching twice a week and another 32% do it once. There are about 10% on each side of 1 and 2.
If you own a bench, does it decline? 33% say yes.
Do you see a need to own both an adjustable bench and a flat bench? 36% say yes and most likely saying that an adjustable bench will not fit all of their needs 💪
Would you pay more for the ability to store your bench upright? 64% are going with no.
Would you pay more money for your bench to have wheels? 48% say yes. Therefore, the ability to move the bench around easily is more important than the ability to save some space.
How much do you expect to pay for a new bench? With multiple benches coming out with a higher price tag, it’s interesting to see that only about 9% want to spend more than $300. The bulk of respondents expect to pay between $101 and $300.
The final two questions last week asked respondents if they’ve heard of the Rep Fitness AB-5200 and Monster Utility Bench 2.0 from Rogue. The Rogue bench wins here by just 8%.
