A weightlifting platform can be an excellent addition to your home gym. It’s a great way to save your plates and flooring, is safer, can be quieter, and just looks better! Having a dedicated spot to do deadlifts, squats, and other olympic lifts is a nice luxury to have.
While Preston Wilson of PW23 Fitness, builds these out for a living, he has put together instructions for anyone to create their own. This process will take a few hours for most people, but it will save you several hundred dollars compared to buying it from a larger company. The materials and tools necessary are listed out first and the video will layout instructions.
The materials list is as follows:
3 sheets of 4’x8’ 3/4” rough plywood decking
1 – 4’x8’ 3/4” Sanded Plywood
1- 4’x6’ 3/4” Rubber Stall Mat
1 Box of 1 1/4 inch screws
