Slam Bars then Brews Explained

It’s understood that this phrase sounds like something a couple of frat guys may say to each other on Saturday afternoons, but that’s very far from what we mean by, “Slam Bars then Brews.” We simply see it as a perk of home gym workouts. Here are a few characteristics of the slogan:

Only Try This at Home

Drinking a beer just after a workout is simply something that you cannot do at most gyms. Plus, it would be awkward to whip out a can and drink before you hop in the car and leave. At home, you have the freedom to do whatever you want and the post workout beer is a perfect symbol of this benefit.

You’ve Earned it

We get it… there are healthier options out there, but it doesn’t change the fact that you’ve earned a brew (if you worked hard enough). You know what they say, “Work Hard – Play Hard”! Plus, your “gains” will not be lost if you pop a cold one open once or twice a week after your workout. It doesn’t matter if you just got done running, biking, doing some deadlifts, or some sort of CrossFit workout, a beer always tastes better if you had to work for it.

Make it a Party

Have your friends over on a Saturday and slam some brews with them after a workout. It would be rude to have them over and not offer them a drink.

Slam Responsibly!

It’s not recommended to just start slamming massive amounts of beer just after you finish an intense WOD. Also, if you are waking up to work out at 5 am, it’s safe to say that you probably shouldn’t immedietly start slamming (but we wouldn’t judge). Use sound judgement when it comes to #slambarsthenbrews.

In the end, we just wanted to showcase the true meaning of “Slam Bars then Brews.” It is one of the ways to reveal the freedom that comes with the home gym. Plus, it’s a way for us to show that we don’t take ourselves too seriously.  If these sorts of posts interest you, feel free to check out @barsthenbrews.
